Financial Information and Policies
I truly appreciate your choosing to come to me for counseling. As a part of providing high-quality services, I need to be clear about our financial arrangements. Maureen Fiorelli does not accept insurance payments. Thus, cash, check or credit card payments are the only acceptable forms of payment. Payment is due at the time of service. A valid credit card is required to be kept on file at all times. Your credit card may be used for regular fulfillment of your financial obligations with our practice, or if you prefer, you can provide us with a different form of payment at the time of service. The credit card on file will be charged for the full amount of your session if you fail to cancel your session 48 clock hours before your session and/or if you no-show for your scheduled appointment. Maureen will wait for you to arrive up to 15 minutes after the scheduled start time of your session. If you fail to show or contact your therapist within the 15 minute window, your session will be considered a late cancel/no-show. In the event that you have an insurance plan that offers Out-of-Network benefits, you may request that we provide you with a Superbill so that you can submit a claim for reimbursement of services to your insurer. It is your responsibility, not that of our practice, to know and understand your insurance plan and benefits. Maureen does not verify any insurance plans or benefits on behalf of you, the client. Therefore, Maureen does not guarantee that you will receive any reimbursement, in any amount, from your insurance provider. The current full rates for counseling and psychotherapy services with Maureen Fiorelli are: (As agreed upon by Maureen and Client): 45-50 minutes (Counseling/Psychotherapy for an Individual) $200/session- $250/session.) We understand that there are circumstances where a reduced fee arrangement may be necessary for a time. Maureen Fiorelli has the ability to determine, along with you the client whether a reduced fee arrangement is an option. Maureen reviews her fee structure annually.
Good Faith Estimate – Your Rights:
If you are billed for more than this Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill. You may contact the health care provider or facility listed to let them know the billed charges are higher than the Good Faith Estimate. You can ask them to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, ask to negotiate the bill, or ask if there is financial assistance available. You may also start a dispute resolution process with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). There is a $25 fee to use the dispute process. If the agency reviewing your dispute agrees with you, you will have to pay the price on this Good Faith Estimate. If the agency disagrees with you and agrees with the health care provider or facility, you will have to pay the higher amount. My first session is offered at a reduced rate, in order to afford you the opportunity to determine whether or not we are a good “fit” in working together. My current rate is on a sliding scale range of $200 – $250. I currently do not accept any insurance plans, however I can provide you with a billing statement in order to request reimbursement from your insurance company. Due to COVID-19 most insurance companies are currently reimbursing for TeleHealth/Skype sessions.
Please note that I do have a 48 hour cancellation policy.
For In-person or Online Coaching sessions, My current rate is on a sliding scale range of $200 – $250 per 50 minute session. First session is offered at a lowered rate.
Considerations regarding using your insurance
In choosing to pay out of pocket for psychotherapy services you will benefit by allowing for a greater degree of confidentiality. Many times, insurance companies will require detailed information regarding your treatment (including a diagnosis) before agreeing to pay for services. Additionally, you ultimately have the freedom to choose your own therapist based on your individual needs and to control the length of your treatment.
